GetBookd works by connecting your existing phone number to our AI system using a feature built into every phone carrier called call forwarding. When someone calls you and you don't answer, your carrier automatically forwards the call to your dedicated GetBookd line. Our AI detects the missed call and immediately sends a personalised text to the caller to start booking them in. You don't need any special equipment or a new phone — just a small one-time settings change we walk you through.
Call forwarding is a standard feature available on every phone and carrier — it's been around for decades and is completely reliable when set up correctly. There are different types of call forwarding, but the one GetBookd uses is called Conditional Call Forwarding — specifically, "forward when unanswered."
This means your phone rings as normal. If you pick up, everything is exactly as it always was. If you don't answer after a set number of rings, the call automatically gets redirected to your GetBookd line — and our AI takes it from there.
Your personal number stays the same. Your existing contacts are unaffected. GetBookd only activates on missed calls.
Because GetBookd responds to every missed call, we need to make sure it only contacts actual potential customers — not your family, friends, or anyone you don't want receiving an automated message.
That's what the Blocked Numbers List is for.
During setup, we'll ask you to send us a list of any numbers you don't want GetBookd to respond to — family members, close friends, existing long-term customers who you'd prefer to call back personally, or anyone else. Any missed call from those numbers will be completely ignored by GetBookd, as if the system wasn't there at all.
You can update this list at any time by emailing us at contact@getbookd.info. We'll update it within 24 hours.
This is optional. The blocked numbers list only applies if you use a single number for both business and personal calls. If your business has a dedicated phone number, you won't need it.
During onboarding, we send you a simple form to fill in your blocked numbers.
We load them into your GetBookd system before you go live.

During your setup call, we go through every detail of how your business runs. Here's everything we personalise before you go live.
No two tradespeople run their business the same way. A plumber who works Monday to Friday 8am–5pm and never takes same-day jobs needs a completely different setup to an HVAC engineer who works weekends and wants to fill last-minute slots. That's why every GetBookd setup is done personally — we configure your AI around your answers, not a one-size-fits-all template.
We set the exact hours your AI is allowed to book appointments. Outside those hours, the AI will still respond to missed calls and have a conversation — but it will only offer slots within your working window.
Available Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm only.
Tell us which days you work and which you don't. The AI will never book on your days off, no exceptions.

We tell the AI how long a standard appointment takes for each service type. This prevents back-to-back bookings that leave no travel time.
Boiler service = 2 hours. Emergency callout = 1 hour. Full installation = full day.
You choose whether customers can book for the same day or whether there's a minimum notice period required.
No same-day bookings. Minimum 24 hours notice required.
We give the AI a clear list of what you offer and what you don't. If someone asks about a service you don't provide, the AI will let them know politely rather than booking something you can't deliver.
Offers: boiler repair, boiler installation, central heating. Does not offer: electrical work, roofing.
Set a cap on how many jobs the AI can book in a single day so you're never overwhelmed.

We write your AI's opening messages and conversation style to match how you'd want your business represented. Professional and formal, or friendly and casual — you decide.
Friendly but professional. Always address customers by first name.
We write a custom confirmation message that gets sent once a booking is made — including your business name, what was booked, and any instructions for the customer.

After you sign up, we send you a simple personalisation form to fill in at your own pace. Then on your setup call, we go through your answers together and configure everything before you go live. Most clients are fully set up within 24 hours of signing up.
Because GetBookd uses call forwarding configured to your specific phone and carrier, certain changes to your phone setup will require us to update your system. If any of the following happen, email us at contact@getbookd.info before or immediately after the change so we can make sure GetBookd keeps working without interruption:
